My Role

UX Researcher

UI Designer

Redesigning the dining experience through data-driven design and smart UX

Challenge

Located in SAP’s innovation hub in Berlin, Data Kitchen offers a tech-enabled dining experience—but its existing app lacked usability, visual appeal, and failed to reflect the cutting-edge nature of the SAP ecosystem. The challenge was to redesign the app to better showcase SAP’s integrated tech stack, improve user experience, and align with the broader brand identity of Data Space.

Process

I conducted UX research through observations, interviews, and usability testing to uncover key pain points—like confusing navigation, limited personalization, and unclear order tracking. Using service design tools such as personas, journey maps, and blueprints, I redesigned the app to offer intuitive navigation, smart recommendations, and real-time updates—seamlessly integrating SAP’s technology and aligning with the Data Space brand.

Result

The redesigned concept introduced a seamless, data-enriched dining experience:

  • A new app interface featuring intuitive navigation, smart menus, and real-time order status

  • Personalized suggestions based on dietary preferences, behavior, and time of day

  • Visual upgrades that reflect SAP’s tech-forward identity and Data Space's innovation focus

The solution enhanced usability and brand consistency while boosting engagement, restaurant traffic, and SAP’s visibility in lifestyle tech.
